Sandy’s Circle is a distinct group of young professionals who share many of the same passions in life as The First Tee of San Francisco Founder Frank “Sandy” Tatum; notably, a love for the great game of golf and commitment to helping underserved youth.
The mission of Sandy’s Circle is to positively impact the lives of First Tee students through direct interaction while raising awareness of The First Tee of San Francisco via outreach to the business and golf communities.
Commitment: Members of Sandy’s Circle will actively engage students by supporting designated events, playing golf with the kids, and participating in a mentorship program. The recommended time commitment will be a minimum of 20 hours per year.
Types of events: Friday Night Golf with the Kids at Golden Gate Park Golf Course, Hosting Students to your Company, First Tee Buddy Program (Mentoring), Visitacion Valley Short Game Skills Challenge, Annual First Tee SF Golf Tournament at TPC Harding Park, The Golden Gate Park Shootout held on Masters Saturday, First Tee at Urban Putt, First Tee Giants Game, and many more.
Benefits: In addition to the incredible rewards of helping at-risk youth, the Circle will provide unique opportunities to network with dynamic professionals who enjoy golf and lead various business sectors in the Bay Area. Sandy’s Circle will have direct affiliation with the Board of Directors of The First Tee of San Francisco, whose roster includes many prominent figures in the community. The benefits are limitless.
